一、圣诞节的由来（Summary in English）

Christmas is a Christian holiday celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. Its origins date back to ancient Roman and early Christian traditions. The exact date of Jesus’ birth is not mentioned in the Bible, but December 25 was chosen as the celebration day in the 4th century by the Roman Church.

The festival has roots in several pre-Christian customs, including the Roman Saturnalia and the winter solstice celebrations. Over time, these pagan festivals were incorporated into Christian practices, leading to the modern Christmas we know today.

In many countries, Christmas is also a time for family gatherings, gift-giving, and festive decorations. The tradition of Santa Claus, or Saint Nicholas, originated from the historical figure of a 4th-century bishop known for his generosity.
